Kerine was hospitalised for jaundice on day 5 and only discharged on day 7.
Her jaundice level went up so fast within 2 days!
Was very upset and cried because she is a very fierce girl and am afraid that if she can't get what she want (she's very impatient), she would wail and wail away.
Indeed upon admission, while we are outside the nursery, we can hear her crying away.
Luckily hubby is around and he manage to console me. Cried and heartache. Wanted to see her and carry her.
But we are told to minimized the visitation time so that she can be under the light longer.
We went to Bugis and then went back again for feeding. So that I can direct latch on while at the same time cuddle her and visit her without disturbing her phototherapy.
Dr was positive and said that maybe she can be discharged the next day as she was just a borderline admission. However they need to keep her in for at least 24hrs, meaning if her jaundice level drop the next morning (they take blood test at 6am), they still have to keep her in till evening then can discharge her as she was only admited at 4.30pm.
Next day, hubby went to deliver my breast milk and then to ICA to do her BC. But i had forgotten the marriage cert and thus he's unable to do it. Came home, hospital called. Saying that meimei's jaundice had not dropped much (only 3 points!) and therefore unable to discharged. Had to stay for another night.
Lunched,. off we go to ICA to do her BC then to KKH to visit her.
Darius came after his school and we stayed till evening for another feed before leaving her there, hoping she can be discharged the next day.
Next morning, hospital called and told us the good news, she can go home now! Lunch and went to fetch our princess.
Finally home sweet home! Following the discharge are follow ups at the polyclinic.
And today, polyclinic have finally discharged her as her jaundice level is lower then 100 now.
Great job our princess!
Kerine, please be good alright. Love you & korkor.
